I worked for a vitamin manufacturer for 8 years. Last time I had the flu was over 10 years ago, about 2 months after I started. After that I started on a daily regimen and haven't been sick since. When I had coof last year, the only symptom I had was loss of taste and smell. I even went to work and passed their BS temp check at the door (not realizing I was "sick" when I went to work). Vitamin D3 is one of the cheapest and most beneficial vitamins you can take. Even with ~2+ hours of sun per day, I still take about 5000 IU/day.
I go on a two hour bike ride almost daily, so I get a lot of sun, but I decided recently to start taking D3 after reading so much about it. I started talking 2,000 IU/day (for almost three weeks) and got massive constipation to the point that I could only go once a week, and had painful stomach cramps. I quit talking the D3 and quickly returned to normal within a couple days, and haven’t taken it since.
I did some research and read that it’s a common side effect. One article said that suffering constipation from Vit D is a sign that you’re low on magnesium… So now I’m thoroughly confused.
Exactly what I take
And I went on vacation when I got the "virus" . Didn't miss a beat
