Today I drove out to PA with my brother to buy some very cheaply priced weights and bars for my gym. (The seller was a based Trump supporter who looked every part the stereotype the left pushes but had the sweetest family who conversed with my north jersey ass)
Anyway on the way out west I saw humvees and all sorts of military trucks. Like dozens and dozens. As I took a different highway on my route, more military vehicles (older looking and beige so I have to assume NG).
On the way back from chatting and buying and whatnot, more and more NG vehicles in line along the highways.
Anyone know what this could be about? u/njholyland ?
You have ft McGuire and fort Dix down here. It's fairly common to see the vehicles on the highway
You said dix.
I thought they closed Dix.
I don't think so.
They had dix opened to train national guards for overseas deployment. At least they did in 2008
I knew of some bases and it likely is that, but the sheer number of vehicles was pretty eye opening. It's probably just relocation, but it caught me way off guard.
Not saying you're wrong it's possible of course. We do get a lot of activity though
Gotcha, I'm around Jersey City, haven't been south/west in years.
So maybe... some of this could be unusual activity?
National Guard annual “Toys for Twats” drive to compete with the Marines “Toys for Tots” drive.
It’s an annual rivalry in New Joisey
It’s Sunday. Units are probably coming back from weekend drill and going home.
That makes a lot of sense.
My brother got put on active duty for three months in massachusetts. He is hedgy about why and he is a super leftist vaxxist anti 2a person bernie bro. Not sure what to make of it or how he can be that leftist woke in the military.
It’s jarring when you see military activity when there’s usually none. We are in a special circumstance in the NE. People have no clue. Many plausible explanations (which are probably right) BUT listen to your gut. I’m south right now but nothing unusual in the past few weeks. Back to the escape route!
Past 5 years I’ve been back and forth quite a bit and have seen this several times. You’ve got Indian town Gap traveling to the joint base. Super annoying when it happens cause they clog the shit out of the 2 lane turnpike until it expands to 3
Haha yeah I took the pike to save time and I did but paying $10 each way to PA and back I wouldn't expect to have to share a high toll highway with long lines of military vehicles.
I fucking hate the pike.
Didn't see nothin and i was out all day
