Hivemind. I've seen small things like a certain t-shirt become extremely popular for a week or even ONE DAY. For ONE DAY old men, teenage girls and everything in between will wear some weird thing like a shirt with Elmo on it. After this day or week is over, you'll never see that shirt again.
I used to play Pokemon Go somewhere in Asia. I played it longer than most people. When it was popular, it was expected that you have it on your phone. Parks were mob scenes of thousands of people catching Pokemon. I was once in a park mob that rushed to a smallish street to catch a really good Pokemon. We FILLED the street. Cars and scooters were trapped. The drivers must have freaked out because they suddenly had hundreds if not thousands of people completely engulfing their cars. A lot of people played it.
Anyway, after some time limit or whatever, the hivemind decided that it was over. I still liked it so I still played it. Other people did too, but the crowds became MUCH smaller.
If I said I liked Pokemon Go, people would say "we don't play that anymore".
Ok, maybe YOU don't, but I do. "No, that's old. We don't play that anymore."
People would laugh at me and do anything they could do to convince me that playing Pokemon Go was now unacceptable... I continued to do what I wanted to do though because I don't give a shit what everyone else thinks.
On a more serious note, I heard about someone calling the driver of a car a "son of a bitch" (in English). Why? I don't remember the details, but the driver hit or almost hit someone. Did something dangerous. So, a foreign guy yelled "watch it you son of a bitch" or something like that. The driver sued him and won.
I told everyone I saw that that was ridiculous. NOBODY agrees with me. Everyone insists that he was being offensive and you don't have the right to offend people.
I tried to explain that that type of thinking OFFENDS ME, and by their logic I should sue all of them, but that's not the popular opinion, so it was ignored.
Basically TV or some influential person said the foreign person was bad, so therefore they are, and don't you dare go against it.
People will ask me questions... just simple questions about the news.. unimportant stuff. "Have you heard that eggs are unhealthy now??" with this sly grin.. they're pretty proud because they must be the first person to break this news to me! Well, the problem is that they're the 12th person to ask me that, usually WORD FOR WORD the same sentence, in English.
People here won't go off on you, they'll just distance themselves.
I prefer this to snowflake bs, though there are very clear connections, yes.
The difference to me is that the snowflakes still THINK they're thinking for themselves, and they're expressing all their personal uniqueness... by doing exactly what everyone else is doing....
Asian culture is under no delusions that they think for themselves. They can to a degree of course, but they're pretty dedicated to being part of the group.
No that's pretty much exactly Asian culture lol. We have leftists here that are like that but nothing compared to them over there. They are the most terrifying people on the planet.

I mean, who programs them!?!?!? They're robots.
That's not just Asian cultures. Snowflake culture in the west is about the same.
If you say something mean then you are totally indefensible and may as well be murdered.

Yeah, uh, no. You just admitted we have it here. It's not just Asian culture. End of story.
I didn't write it was just Asian culture. I wrote that although we have it here, it's nothing compared to Asian culture. And that's a fact.
