I'm so glad that we have our guns still. I need to get my kids to the range more often. Wish they could shoot bb guns in the back yard, like I grew up doing.
Haha. When I was a kid, my old man got me a rifle like in the Christmas story. I asked, "Won't I shoot my eye out like ralph?" My Pa is a Marine Rifle & Pistol Expert to boot.
His response "Well, only if you're a dumbass and ignore what I'm about to teach you." ROFL. Got to say I loved going to the shooting galleries in the theme parks.
They told me I couldn't play anymore even I paid the fee to play. Free prizes.
I still shoot BB guns in the backyard for fun. And my nephews and nieces love it when I do when they visit. Also, teaching them what my Pa taught me.
It's amazing how much carries over from BB guns to real guns. I didn't shoot any real rifles until Marine Corps bootcamp. Shot expert every time. The real fun was the "unknown course of distance" ranges. Pop up targets from 200 - 400 yards, set your sights at 350 and use "Kentucky Windage". Learning bullet drop from a BB helps alot!
That's what I was taught but as a kid I did not understand it. Then when I got older learned what medal meant and everything else. Talk about shocked. lol Every time I asked are you really good? He says I'm not great just decent. -.-
Best part was he wasn't even in Infantry. He's administration. So the admin place where my dad was stationed loved it when mock battles were scheduled vs infantry. They finally won but downside was got noticed and when 9/11 happened yup. He made it back thank God.
I'm sure your kids will tell stories of how their "Old man" taught them how to be damn good shooters!
I remember shooting pop cans in the back yard. It cost me $35. I had to pay my neighbor because a ricochet shattered the back window of his 55 Chevy. Yes, $35 for a junk yard window. That’s how old I am.
Sadly we are in a house that has other houses behind it, plus we have a small yard. Suburbs... I grew up with a forest behind our house. I don't even know how many cans I sawed in half with my little pump action bb gun. Had to be hundreds.
Maybe we should thank Trump for pushing this vax so fast they didn’t have time to get our guns first.
and thank Trump for pushing this demon from his dark little cave into the sunlight for us all to see.
