Omicron is screwing up their mantras. It spreads like wildfire and symptoms show up quickly, sometimes even the same day or next day. Mild cases resolve quickly too. I tend to think Omicron is less related to the others and more of a regular cold/flu but if it builds up everyone's immunity, perhaps we can stop this madness.
Seems kind of odd. They say you're most likely most contagious 2 days before showing symptoms and 3 days afterwards. If you get tested when you have symptoms then that would seem to indicate that you only need to quarantine for 3 days.

It comes down, entirely, to a reduced labor force. There are millions of Americans not working right now, companies can't fill all of their positions. The government just fired thousands of employees for not getting the shot as well.
If Wal-Mart can't get enough people hired to fill all of their spots currently, then they sure as shit can't afford to have a sick employee sitting at home for ten days. So these companies all lobbied the government to reduce the quarantine.
