In 2016, I asked my jab addicted, Trump hating liberal NYC friends how did NYC go from being so incredibly dangerous to one of the safest cities of it's size. They begrudgingly pointed to Giuliani.
Yup.
Every media outlet attacked him, every city and state organization worked against him. But he changed everything. From Bloomberg to Eric Adams we’re about to go right back to the 1970s.
I know a lib who admitted voting for Giuliani's reelection as mayor. When asked why he'd vote for someone who opposed his values, he said, "Well, I have to live here." It turns out he really enjoyed not being shot, stabbed, assaulted, or mugged.
