Having worked with fundraising statewide, and with one campaign in particular, I have to say, don't get cocky. Blue TX is closer than you think. Reason one is that there are more blues here than you realize (many from CA). Second reason is HUGE dissatisfaction with TX Republicans. Add in illegals - and there was little stemming of that tide under Trump, no matter the rhetoric. Pure numbers? We let in a LOT of illegals during his four years, more so than some other recent presidents. And results matter to many Texans, not just words and spicy tweets.
Also the perception that Trump and R's in general let us all down by failing on the wall and that he was the captain in the chair while lockdowns, quarantines and other measures happened. I mean.. it wasn't Obama in the big chair when Govs were given huge funding to lock down states, and Texans didn't forget that. Fair or not.
It didn;t happen under Bush or Clinton that kids were forced to wear masks in public schools.
It was, inarguably, under Trump. Again, fair or NOT.
Biggest factor is illegals voting illegally and the blue TX recipe is plainly obvious.
Texas has a big big voter fraud problem. Been getting steadily worse every election season
Turn Texas Blue was just a cover for the fraud operation. Texas was nowhere near turning blue except the big cities.
