It’s the stupid get tested to work requirements some jobs have. It’s jamming up the system and the news gets to report how oh so long the lines for testing are…
I work in a hospital and won't take the vax, so I have to get tested twice a week. Before the holidays it was easy to get an appointment for any day/time you wanted, but around Christmas it got so jammed up that you now can't get in unless you sit on the computer refreshing their page exactly 48 hours prior to when you want the appointment.
Want to come in on Wednesday at 8am? You have login on Monday to keep hitting refresh from like 7:55 to 8:ish until you get an appointment. If you miss your window your shit out of luck. It's frustrating.
This is such bullshit. I've been working from home since March 2020. I work for a municipal corporation in Seattle and they followed the state mandatory jab or get fired mandate. I submitted a religious exemption that was accepted but now they want me to get tested weekly and wear a special "kn95" mask if I am in the office. I am on vacation until January 18th and scheduled to work in the office on January 26th so I'm supposed to get tested and submit my results to th H/R dept. I've been agonizing over this stupid crap. Haha. I know people have it much worse than I do, losing their jobs over this mandate but I am still torn up hoping I won't have to get the test to keep my job. I don't want to submit to this and I'm just hoping they change this requirement for me to be in compliance. When did we become a communist country?
I’ve been going through something similar. I almost had to drive 40 minutes one way out of town for my test this week before finding a last minute cancellation in my city. My office has gone full remote again starting next week due to the “surge,” but the vaccine free still have to test and report. Glad I’m leaving this job soon!

I almost want to tell you to go in to the office with a hazmat suit. Maybe graffiti “do you feel safe now ?!?!” on it.
Brilliant idea! I love it! 😄 haha

was just going to comment the same. It is just going to get worse if the SC doesn't do something Monday to stop the nonsense.
