Lightning discharges are often observed during explosive volcanic eruptions and are commonly associated with the formation of ash plumes. Lightning discharges are produced within three regions of the plume:
(1) the gas-thrust region immediately above the vent
(2) the convection- driven rising column extending several kilometres above the vent
(3) the neutrally buoyant umbrella region. It is proposed that clustering of particles provides an efficient mechanism for both charge generation and lightning discharge within volcanic plumes.
Lightning during a volcanic event can't be described as "strikes." That implies cloud-to-ground. The lightning being recorded on the software is simply cloud-to-cloud discharges. Completely normal.
Thank you for a reality check. All the nuclear bombs in the world would not supply the energy put out in this weeks eruption events. All the conjectured energy weapons have to have energy from somewhere: that's a rule of physics, energy is lost while doing work. So where is the gigantic engine putting out this energy? What is fueling it? Where is the army dragging it around and why weren't they noticed? What were they standing on in the Pacific while they maneuvered? Why is it so hard to imagine that the earth itself has all that heat and pressure necessary to move billions of tons of rock, which is still only a blip on its surface?
I think someone needs to calm down: https://volcanoes.usgs.gov/volcanic_ash/lightning.html

It's actually a volcanic static discharge. The rest is just dopium.
When he says, "That's not natural," I assumed he was implying that it was a man-made event. That was what I was commenting upon. My mistake.

The Earth is a capacitor, its the stored energy it has.
Yeah, it's not unusual in that respect.
