Also, I've tried telling my parents to stock up on food, they are like "we have a deep freezer full of food!"
Glad I live near mountains where I can hunt for food if necessary. Snag an elk or a few deer and eat for a year!
That deep freezer won't be worth anything if/when the power goes out.
Do you really think, that someone with a freezer full of food, has no back up power? C'mon man! Think it through buddy. We are all here for the long haul

I know lots of people, just regular people, have been preparing for many, many months. Long before the current shortages, it was hard to find the kinds of things people stock up on - flour, yeast and other items for bread baking, canned basics like beans, bags of rice and dried beans, canned meats like Spam, etc. Also things like propane stoves, survival blankets, lanterns and other gear in the camping section of stores.
If these are all q people, we must be 90% of the population here.
There are some great ideas in the HOBO videos. How to make a Hobo cooking stove out of a can. Use old candle wax for fuel.
We have a rocket stove. It cooks like blazes using only a few small sticks. You can also make one using bricks.
