also - what’s wild is The Bible literally hugely frowned on banking or money-changing. Which I now find fascinating. In fact charging interest for loans was considered illegal for a long time in the newly Christian western world. Kinda wild. Still illegal in most Islamic countries

Honestly usury and loans is a predominantly Jewish sort of idea historically outside of China
