The FDA - an organisation designed to make everyone take poisons because the agency is funded by the entities they purportedly regulate...
Meanwhile they won’t let me have my SARMs…which are wayyyyyy better for me than anything the FDA approves
What’s that?
Selective androgen receptor modulators. It’s biohacking that has some amazing benefits and potential benefits beyond muscle building. For example, Ostarine was developed for osteoporosis. RAD140 helps with cholesterol. And all of these help you get in shape and stay in shape. Which is why the FDA doesn’t like them. Can’t have people being healthy on their watch
Now THAT’s interesting!!
That.. is a ridiculous assertion. FDA has its budget set by Congress, with taxpayer money.
So lobbying has nothing to do with policy then, by that reasoning.
The agency is funded by.. taxpayers. Not private entities. Yes, lobbyists can fight for more money to be carved out for the FDA, but the money does not come from the entities they regulate. It comes from us.
Maybe it was just your phrasing, but it's a big distinction.
I really don't see the distinction you see. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter if we are the source of funding when we have no control over the actual direction of spending. Its not just the amount of budget that matters, its how the budget is directed to be spent. Its not like an actual service contract you could cancel if you didn't like the way the agency was acting.
Couple this with the fact the FDA (like most federal agencies) is run by former members of the industries they regulate. The revolving door between regulatory bodies and the companies they are supposed to keep in check is well memed. They go back and forth between private and public to maximise profits at our expense.
