Why are we learning one week later the balance of the Senate could be tipped?
🧐 Research Wanted 🤔
So it appears a democrat US senator had a bad stroke one week ago the same day Justice breyer announced his retirement.
They kept this information until it leaked out. Why? They were trying to pretend and tell themselves he would be back to work and just a few weeks.
He has had brain surgery to have damaged removed and the swelling stopped.
Me think it was kept from us because they don't really know and don't want to talk about Joe Manchin and Sinema in being off the hook!
That is big news and just awful for any human being and to not tell the country for a week?
Steve Gruber is covering this on Real America's Voice.
Stay tuned...
The Senator is from New Mexico, which has a Democrat governor. So if the Senator died or had to medically retire the Dem Gov would just put in another Democrat into the slot. It would not tip the balance of power. What am I missing?
Maybe it's just one less dem for now. I don't know if they could replace him unless he dies and while he is recuperating. So it could be that his seat wouldn't be replaced for a while if he lives.
Since Schumer controls what comes up to vote in the Senate he would simply postpone any votes until the seat is filled. They wouldn't put something to a vote if they knew for a fact they didn't have it. Republicans wouldn't be able to flip the leadership since Harris would be the 100th vote if one was missing. I guess in an emergency they would get a 50-50 vote with Harris but i still don't know what that would accomplish.
Nah, vp can only vote when there is a 50-50 tie. If a single dem senator is absent or votes against, they can’t pass shit.
Unless a R senator breaks rank
I don't think Kamala can vote unless it is to break a tie. She is not a Senator.
Correct.
Man chin and sinema are wild cards though. Who know how many else are ready to flip or are sleepers.
