This is my feeling as well. I love my family and friends on the left, but I no longer respect them in many important ways and don’t trust them to be able to make important decisions.
Going forward, I can’t see myself ever welcoming anyone new into my circle of friends who is (or was?) on the left. I just have no respect for these people.
For me, where forgiveness is concerned, I can forgive (and I have and will continue to when necessary), but I don’t have to forget - nor do I need to spend my God-given precious time on this earth with people who don’t deserve my time.
Yes, it is for God to forgive them, not me.
From Matthew 18
It can be difficult to follow Jesus, but worthy.
I know I fail daily or more....
To err is human. To forgive, divine. I am not divine.
Therefore, you are in error.
No just human
Well Sir, we love you anyway.
eph 4:32
be ye kind one towards another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another as Christ also forgave you.
I can forgive, trust is another matter.
As many have discovered, it is ok to love them, but still execute them.
It is ok to forgive them and still send them to their maker.
A little on the nose, but the phrase works:
"We forgive you, die in peace."
Lmfao. Dark bro.

I won't seek them out, but if we cross paths again, and they stopped being assholes I won't turn my back on them.
But mostly I'll probably just remember them less & less...
