I went to the trailer... I am confused. It looks entertaining. What was woke about it? And, what is the quote people kept posting? I don't speak Elvish.
Edit: wait, I understand the OP, now... the translation is there.
But still, I don't understand why this is so hated? I love Middle-earth... if I can see more of it, then what's the problem?
2 words. Black hobbits. Amongst other goodies yet to be revealed.
I am a Middle-earth purist, in the sense that I didn't even like how they altered the script for the movies. But I still loved the movies and I was able to set aside what I didn't like. For me, a portrayal of Tolkien's world that allows me to see more of it is wonderfulness is a good thing. If the producers want to add diversity (which I am not a fan of from the purist perspective) I am able to look past it and marvel at the amazing landscapes, structures and creatures of Middle-earth that are brought to life again. That's just me.
The story features a black elf who has a forbidden love affair with a white human single mom. Do you see all the social justice agenda virtue signaling points crammed into this? The need for such things WILL ruin Tolkein's legacy.
Look at what they did with the Wheel of Time (WOT) series to get an idea of the travesty unfolding.
I hear you. But I do not think that anyone who loves Tolkien will allow that legacy to be ruined. In fact, this "test" will prove just how beautiful his story is/was, and I am confident that Tolkien fans will be able to enjoy seeing portrayals of Middle-earth and look past the bullshit. This will strengthen the original. And if someone watches it because of a transgender orc (or whatever) and they hear/see the beauty of Tolkien's messages and the world he created, and they are positively influenced, then that is a good thing.
Look out for tranmy and gay characters inserted into the plot, intended to virtue signal to the screeching 1%.
Oh, I didn't realize that.
On that note, then, 90 percent of entertainment is tainted.
Yeah the trailer doesn't have anything woke or unusual but I would be surprised if the show was normal.
Anime is not tainted with this stuff - however it has other issues like over sexualized characters. However the most popular ones are free of that, if you're into fantasy that might be an avenue to explore.
Thanks... but I'm pretty much just interested in Tolkien's world.
my favorite anime is Girls Und Panzers!💎🤲 =💣=💀🐻
Is this for real ?? Or just your theory ? I’m not saying you are wrong, just wondering if this is real
So I hear.
But I will lay money that there will be a "gender-fluid, non-binary, he/her/him/she-man otherkin" wood elf who wears a woman's dress and has perpetual five o'clock shadow.
Screen cap this and bet on it. Easy money.
They are making it solely to deconstruct it and to guilt trip you for loving the original, which they see as heteronormative white colonialism or some shit. You clearly haven't been following the development.
No, have not been aware. And, nothing can deconstruct the original for me. : )
From thequartering video I saw they decided against putting a beard on the female dwarf. Lots of lore inaccuracies like that and most of it is in the name of wokeness. The joke from the movies was literally
And then his pony takes off and he falls from it... I always cringe when he hits the ground.
I think it's just the fact that so many people associate Amazon with evil. The comment says nothing about wokeness, even if it's there.
