My husband went to Aldi and he was masking up and struggling with the QR code as he had left his glasses at home when an older man sidled up to him and said. ‘You don’t have to do that anymore Mate’. Bewildered, my husband asked him pardon? We don’t have to use our QRs, the NSW gov. has just announced it’. And masks follow in a short time.
To all those coppers that bashed, tasered, pepper-sprayed , used rubber bullets on people who lost teeth and eyes, broke bones, knocked people unconscious with truncheons, fined, intimidated, jailed, chased down with horses, sicced the dogs on people, mocked ‘protesters as Nazis’ etc. I hope you are bloody proud of yourself because you have caused a division and a gulf so wide in Australia that you will NEVER be respected or trusted again. I hope your pay grade was worth it. Your day of reckoning is fast approaching. The excuse of ‘I was told to’ won’t cut it.
I hear you.
It's a sad indictment of Australian society in the last few decades at how much the regulation and control has slipped in. I mean, that's why so many Australians were conditions perfectly to follow the nonsense even when it was super-nonsense (a pandemic with less than almost no deaths in 2020, yet everyone following mandates...)
For me its a serious inhibitor that a bike rider MUST wear a helmet. Apparently only in Vic and in QLD. Even in the Netherlands, which is about 1000% more bike riders, they don't do that.
Sigh.
I grew up in the early seventies there were zero bike helmets No one I knew or heard about got a head injury from a bike
Just say you are exempt. Herecin UK when you look at the government info. you don't have to show any medical reason ..just to be very uncomfortable wearing a mask is enough to say I am exempt. You don't have to show an exempt certificate or piecec of paper. I have never worn a mask.
Look at your government info online. I think it's a get out against being sued.
Ooops. I've been covid programmed.
I mean to write "For me its a serious inhibitor that a bike rider MUST wear a helmet"
(ill edit) Two states in Australia have a dumb law that states that a person riding a bike MUST wear a helmet. Or else. I hate it.
Don't worry, I've been mask free for about 18 months now. Except when I slip it on as a disguise when attending "illegal" protests in the city. Those without masks were targeted by the cops. I don't mind wearing camouflage.
