Does anyone remember that theory from last year that Xi is a white hat and may hobble the PLA so that Taiwan can take over China.

It seems very improbable, but I remembered it with interest.

I'm willing to imagine that Xi is not what he seems at least.

He rolled out the red carpet for Trump and treated him with exceptional courtesy and honour. I am inclined to believe Xi is on the side of the angels.

Exactly, big difference. As far as I know, Trump is the only POTUS to be taken to the Forbidden City.
