I am an Apple user but I can't argue with your comment. The only thing I like and prefer about Apple is that their platform is much more stable than the Microsoft BS that is out there.
I use a very old version of Windows with updates turned off and never have any stability problems. It's the suckers who have automatic updates (think Orwellian- downgrades) who suffer instability and are victims of planned obsolescence.
I agree! I turned off my auto-updates a long time ago. However, I’m talking about how PC devices have, or were running DOS AND Microsoft, which made the OS much more unstable.
Check Windows 10 LTSC, the only stable Windows 10. Only security updates, nothing else not "feature" updates which break your Settings and printer every single time.
Even security updates are NOT necessary with a fortified browser unless you are new to the internet and install random unknown attachments.
MS can codify things as security updates which really are not. I started being curious many years ago and started looking up each update for a little while-- you'd be surprised what they actually do.
