the movie was very loosely based on the novel American Hero by Larry Beinhart (1993) and pointed (very carefully) a finger at the made for TV First Gulf War.

i unplugged my TV and put it in storage.... was years before I watched American television again

got a best of times, worst of times feeling about how people the world over are going to react when Toto (Q) finally pulls back the curtain
