To help you visualize the problem there, in case you don't see it, imagine Putin pouring billions upon billions of dollars into Mexico, to alienate Mexico from the US.

But to make things similar, imagine that South America buying our oil accounted for 36% of our GDP, and that Russia interfering in Mexico means we no longer have an avenue to sell to South America, because Mexico will no longer allow us to use any pipeline through their country.

Now imagine that we, as Americans, did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about it.

That is a perfect analogy of the situation. We (as in corrupt administrations of the US) have been interfering with Russia's national security interest, destroying their economy by meddling in an area completely on the other side of the globe from us.

And Putin never bombed you for it.
