I need accurate sources for history for my 7th grade home school child. I am so tired of picking through drivel and bias. Can my fellow Pedes help a granny out? Bonus if you can direct me to fun videos that showcase actual historical truth. Fun is important as I am dealing with a highly intelligent yet easily bored child. Much thanks in advance.

Schoolhouse Rock👏👏👏
Decades ago, I saw Schoolhouse Rock underwear at Urban Outfitters but didn't buy them. If I allowed myself to have any regrets, that would be one of them🐸
Lol. I feel you there. We didn’t know how good we had it🤨

The Good and the Beautiful. I actually found out about this curriculum on a thread here at GA, tho Id been HS for almost a decade--this is the best one Ive found for everything, I call it a gift from God its amazing
We also watch Liberty's kids for fun, of course its getting harder to find for free streaming but dvds still avail and archive.com has whole series for free dl

Also Hillsdale college has many online classes for free, including history.
Story of the world for elementary and lifepac for older grades.
we use lifepac.. I like it, she gets bored
We do the minimum book work, and then focus on real life skills. Farming, gardening, herbal remedies, water purification, solar power grids, carpentry, canning, survival skills! You should never be bored being homeschooled! Get busy fren!
My oldest is only 1st grade, but I'm really loving 'the good and beautiful' curriculum
Youtube is great for entertaining history videos and I have found them to be pretty accurate too.
ducksters.com. We visit this site quite a bit, and I haven’t come across anything questionable, as of yet.

Unschooling is the way to go, but homeschooling is a big step in the right direction.
The lesson every kid learns on day 1 of school, regardless of what is being taught: “I'm forced to do something I don't like for 8 hours every day, and there's nothing I can do about it.” Another consumer-slave is born. “Unschooling” is the natural way to learn.

A Patriot’s History of the United States (Schweikart, Allen) has been recommended here before. They apparently have developed a full curriculum (Wild World of History dot com).

UPDATE: We have had a great day away from the books. Thank you all for all the great options! I'm finding videos that are around ten minutes or less are perfect for her and for getting enough information to her that sparks her interest. She has given me a list of things she wants to watch videos on tomorrow. Winning!!
