The German government will have to explain to their citizens why they have just dragged them into a potential nuclear wipeout.
Sounds like a fine way to start WW III.
Just as a deal may about to be made.
In early February 2022( 5 days before it kicked off) The U.K. signed a renewal of the 1939 deal with Poland which agreed to defend them against an aggressor, I believe this is over and above the NATO requirement. It went under the radar in terms of reporting.

Russia hasn't attacked Poland. Even if Poland gets involved in Ukraine, Russia is still not the aggressor against Poland. Any country that signs a treaty to let another country PULL it into war is no country at all.
Without the Poles or other NATO states playing. (the ones deploying MIGs anyway)
Key differnce is they will deliver to a US base in Germany, not deliver them directly to Ukraine.
That's a huge legal differnce.
On the contrary there's no legal difference whatsoever.
If even 1 of those jets is flown by Ukrainians out of a US base in Germany, it is obvious escalation and likely to start war between US and Russia.
Buydin is NOT in charge of the military.
Once those planes are transfered out of polish hand to us,it would be us giving them to the Ukraine.
Much different than Poland transferring them to the Ukraine.
Which Russia would interpret as they have made it repeatedly, painstakingly clear that this would be considered as the US entering armed conflict. It would start a war between Russia and US.
No thanks.
Read what I said. In no way did I advocate that.
Yes, you did. The dangerous problem is that you don't understand this.
If Poland gives the US these fighter jets to a US base in Germany, and then if Ukrainian pilots fly them out from this base, it will be an act of aggression from the US.
Try reading them again.
Try reading what again? Can you please try to maybe rephrase what you mean, because if I'm not getting your point, telling me to read it again isn't going to help.
The MSM spin on this should be entertaining.
At the same time, Poland requests the United States to provide us with used aircraft with corresponding operational capabilities. Poland is ready to immediately establish the conditions of purchase of the planes.
The Polish Government also requests other NATO Allies – owners of MIG-29 jets – to act in the same vein.
I mean, the way we throw out billions in aid to other countries for nothing more than grift, at least we’d see what they get with this one.
A lot of people don't understand exactly what happened. It is as follows:
US (Xiden admin) tells Poland "Give your jets to Ukraine"
Poland refuses because that would put Poland in a war with Russia in a way that would also remove other countries' NATO obligations to them as they would be the aggressor. In other words, they would be on their own.
Poland says: "We don't want to do it, but we want to help Ukraine so we will give you (the US) the jets so you can send them to Ukraine"
US rejects the offer because it was always only meant to screw Poland over. They refuse to do it themselves.
Poland then says, if the US makes the same requests of other NATO countries, they should do the exact same thing as they did. Have the US do its own dirty work.
WARSAW (AP) — The Pentagon said that Poland’s offer to give MiG-29 fighter jets to the U.S. so they can be passed to Ukraine raises serious concerns for the NATO alliance and the plan is not “a tenable one.”
Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby said in a statement that the prospect of jets departing from a U.S. NATO base in Germany to fly into airspace contested with Russia in the Ukraine war is concerning. He said it’s not clear to the U.S. that there is a substantive rationale for it.
This is pretty much the same. The US wants to send the MIGs cause the nazis are trained on them. Poland says I'll trade them for... IDK, F16s?. F22s? What a deal.
AFAICT the only NATO country still threatening is US. US wants to send arms without getting shot at themselves.
If you believe the borders are still open, I suppose. The effect doesn't seem too great in any case.
Sure, why not.
