Load balancing, among other things. You're not going to have one mega server handling 500m users on one or 100 or 1000 IP addresses.

Yes but the company in question is owned by a former partner of Rodney Joffe. Also I have seen questions regarding the timing of the transfer. I am still lost in the fog of war here. This could possibly be the IPs used for the packets Lindell is always talking about, or maybe not.

This is still an open question.
