Wikipedia is a great source. They site all their statements (mostly) which leads to great digs and very often eventually to primary sources. At the least looking into their sourcing gives a better idea of why the author is saying what they are saying. The problem with wikipedia is not that they are a bad source, the problem is that people think that any source can be trusted.
Wikipedia absolutely can't be trusted. NO SOURCE can be trusted. Not a single one. If you don't employ critical thinking on any source or piece of evidence you remain stuck in The Matrix. Controlled opposition is everywhere. People just being wrong about things is everywhere. You can't trust any source, even those you really like. Instead, listen, and employ critical thinking, no matter the source.
Great points, Slyver.
