I'm a fan of sci-fi, I'll take a recommendation. One of my favorite series is Undying Mercenaries by BV Larson, where they get cloned after death (only after death under penalty of species extinction).
The book I just finished reading is Escaping Eden, all about the ancient origins of life on this planet and how Genesis gets its stories from even earlier traditions. It talks about Sumerian stories that mention kings who reigned for centuries. I thoroughly enjoyed the book.
