I'll take a shot at a few:

LNR - Luhansk Neutral? Region - ethnic Russian separatists fighting since the puppet government was installed in Ukraine in 2014
DNR - Donbas Neutral? Region - similar to LNR
RF - Russian Federation
UA - Ukrainian Army

Anything he marks with an A - like A1a - those are Russian controlled. Anything he marks with a B are Ukrainian held cities.

If I'm reading it correctly that is. I'm a visual learner, so I much prefer maps, especially here since while I'm familiar with the locations of the major cities, I am not with the suburbs and outlying towns that are currently being contested.

DNR stands for "Donetskaya Narodnaya Respublika" in Russian, which translates to "Donetsk People's Republic" (DPR) in English. They're a pro-Russian militia in Ukraine. LNR/LPR are similar, just in Lugansk, as you stated. 🙂

Sounds plausible. It's weird how they mention colors but there are no pics in the thread reader.
