The cold war was most likely an excuse for both countries to spend massive amounts of money investing in military hardware. Went from allies to frenemies. Very convenient for the news cycle as well.
Because we were lied to our whole lives. Communism is absolute shit but it's dying on the vine and we're starting to figure out that our government was the bad guys all along.
American media and government have been proven to be liars thousands of times. How many millions of people have Russia murdered compared to America ?
Look what the Bolcheviks did to them. They have not forgotten.
Well brown derby, it's naΓ―ve to believe that our own government is trustworthy as well. Remember it has been legalized for the government and news organizations to spew propaganda at citizens of the US.
Anyone who trusts Russia completely is quite foolish, Russia still wants to be the world's foremost superpower; that is one aspect to this that everyone should keep in mind. What I do take is information from Ukrainian citizens who live there, Ukrainians that I know with relatives there, journalists on the ground in Ukraine who actually relate what is happening, there is a plethora of information out there from many sources -- official government and newspaper articles written at the time provided a ton of information b/c it was never thought it would come back to bite them in the ass as it is right now. It isn't difficult to sieve the truth out, it simply takes a bit of work.
Trying to distill this down that Russia is giving the truth is attempting to snare people with a catch-all statement. What did lie did Russia get caught at? Actually people were arrested for political statements, have you been paying attention to school board meetings, the January 6th political prisoners? Way back to the glory days of one of the heroes of the left, Dr. Woodrow Wilson had people arrested for speaking out against going to war in Europe, or just speaking out against him. If you are under the delusion that kind of thing won't happen here, you need to take 2 redpills and hang around this board.
I actually understand the freedoms of this country better than most who take it for granted. I have been to Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary. I literally know hundreds of people who lived or more correctly stated survived communism, Poles, Romanians, Hungarians, and a few Russians -- I'm married to someone who was born under communism, I have heard about the experiences and the stories of a lot of people who suffered.
Putin isn't a "good guy" by a long shot, he believes the fall of the USSR was the greatest tragedy of the 20th century. But he hates the NWO, the Illuminati, and he does have a sense of morals in being supportive of people attending church, keeping children safe from predators, grooming and the like.
As a old American Patriot I can't even believe I trust a Russian KGB agent more than American politicians.
Their actions prove me right daily.
We were lied to constantly growing up. The biggest lie teenage boys in the 80s were told was how ugly Russian women are. That my frensβ¦. was a LIE

I would like to know how much was actually stolen vrs actually spend on weaponry.

As a cold-war vet, I concur!

At least Putin has called out the Central Bank and Soros the criminal. Any of your heros bothered to tell the truth ?
