The Myanmar coup was a bit of a watershed point for me, as in a moment I went through an entire sequence of thoughts:

• Oh no the pro-democracy side has been defeated, this is a bad thing.
• Wait it was the media that told me that this was the pro-democracy side in the first place.
• Oh no they're being mean to Aung San Suu Kyi, she is the nice lady.
• Wait everybody else around the world being backed up by the media are on the cabal side.
• Those evil military coup people are taking over the country.
• Wait I've just spent years being told that Trump is evil hitler man by the exact same media.

Leading to the conclusion:

• I don't know what the fuck is actually going on.
• Whoever the media anoints the "good guys" are probably not the ones I want to be rooting for.
