It's ORDNANCE, not ordinance. An ordinance is a municipal (city) law or mandate. ORDNANCE is explosives.

Sorry, raver, but as a former Naval Aviation Ordnanceman and Naval EOD bomb tech, it grinds my gears when I see someone confuse the two.

Friend of mine was a B52 pilot. One bomb dropped from the rack, armed, but didn’t make it before the bay closed.

Command suggested having his crew punch and he fly it in vs dropping in marianas trench (enviro laws).

No one wanted to punch out so they landed and when they deployed chutes, the bomb embedded itself in the bomb bay bulkeahed.

Obviously, no det.

Thanks. I never got to serve in the navy because they took away my ROTC scholarship for health reasons, so I am navy ignorant.
