The Roman Catholic Church is a heretical organization. The Pope of Rome separated from the only and original Christian Church, that of Orthodoxy, in 1054. Separating put them in the position of being heretics, and they still are. On the Sunday of Orthodoxy, the Roman Catholic Church is anathematized, meaning Christians should have nothing to do with it. Others anathematized are Masons, ecumenists and anyone or any group that denies the Orthodox Church. Therefore, all Protestants are heretics, as well. This is why you see such deviation from Scripture in the Catholic Church.
