Yeah they sent up white flares, which mean nothing. Or used for illumination or something like that.
There was a number of stacked factors against the titanic. Not saying she wasn’t intentionally sunk… because going all ahead flank through an ice berg field in the middle of the night makes it seem pretty intentional. She was doomed.
I think the flares were said to be "fireworks" so they ignored them. Yeah always good to let off fireworks in the middle of no where in the dead of night!
