another thing that caught my eye, fren, is the number of people filming. So weird. I film my family or my puppy, I don't film events that will be widely available on social media platforms. I'm a Boomer, maybe I just don't get it, but ... I just don't get it.
Oh, I totally get why people in the audience are all filming the Trump rally! The first time I went to one of his rallies, I literally recorded the entire speech - start to finish. It's documenting history in the making. Other Trump rallies, I just filmed some of it and took pics.
If you travel cross-country and spend tons of money to attend an event like this (as I and tens of thousands of others have done), endure horrible weather outside for many hours (or even days) with no cover/shade/air conditioning, can't go to the bathroom without losing your place in line (if traveling alone), and go thru sooooooooooooooo much just to be there and get a spot in the audience within the viewing area - while standing for 10-12 hours waiting, etc. you definitely want to record at least some of the event for posterity.
Waiting outside in blistering heat all day with no shade, I had a heat stroke at one of his rallies and was in the infirmary for 5 hours. And I still wouldn't leave without seeing Trump's speech, despite a team of paramedics insisting that I go to the emergency room by ambulance. The infirmary manager even threatened to "Baker Act" me (a FL law allowing people to be taken to the hospital against their will), but I talked him out of it.
Yeah, I got lucky. The funniest part when I regained consciousness (with all kinds of wires and devices attached all over me), the EMTs started asking me a bunch of questions to see if I had any brain damage. They were asking things like where am I, what day is it, and things like that.
Then one of the EMTs asked me, "Who is the President of the United States?" I was like, "Is that a TRICK question?" And I proceeded to say, "Well, the SQUATTER who's PRETENDING to be the President is Joe Biden. But the REAL President who truly WON the 2020 election is going to be speaking here tonight." All the EMTs grinned and tried to keep from laughing. =-)

oh that's awesome, that you attended! I see your point! And, I'm a psych nurse. Good job avoiding The Baker Act!
