There is definitely zero creativity going on now. I notice the lack all of the time in every avenue of life. It's like a switch has just been turned off.
I agree. I actually have many conversations with my husband about this and culture, and while I can’t pin point when it all started going downhill, I would strongly point to the 80’s being the end of the most truly creative artists and works.
There are several YouTube channels where people listen and react to old TV comedy shows. Most of these shows are from around the 1980's and I struggle to find any "must watch" comedy shows later than that.
100% agree! I can't think of one comedy in the past 10 years that I remember being funny enough to quote. Everything seems to be a crappy, woke remake. I do think we are seeing a shift with some of the later, retro-type series (Cobra Kai and Stranger Things come to mind), but yes - most current pop-culture sucks!
It had to be about your time frame.....I told my husband he wasn't laughing on cue to the laugh track in the sitcoms and asked him if he notices how all the sitcoms are about sex. He "hated" me for the longest time because I RUINED his sitoms. LMAO
Movies are tough. It better be damn good if I have sit there for 2 hours!

All they do is copy, they can't create at all.
IDK. Blacklist is pretty darn good! James Spade (?) makes that show. You have to really pay attention OR get lost.
Isn't this around the time Obummer signed the Smith-Mundt act that unleashed the media?

I don’t see how you could skip the grunge music of the 90s. That blew the 80s out of the flipping water
It's not just me, then?

Also, it is claimed that most pop music is written by only two people these days. No wonder it sounds samey.
Right on , I’m with you! We do find the occasional upbeat inspirational good movie slips through the cracks, but for the most part… dark, doom, woke.
If you missed it, check out “12 Mighty Orphans” with Luke Wilson from 2021. I was amazed to see a great movie came out that year.

The end of the Mayan calendar was in December of 2012.

Movies geared towards China didnt help.
