There's another possibility to consider.
Let's assume for a moment that "ETs" exist.
Are they necessarily the way the Vatican and the rest of the nazi world order criminals would depict them to us?
What if they exist, but are not bug-eyed freaks, as you described them? Maybe that whole idea was a lie the criminals made up.
What if they look just like us? At least some of them.
I don't have an answer. I just want to help ensure we ask the right questions.
