I despise being "lectured" by self righteous morons.

This is why I am against drone strikes.
The justification is “it makes us loose less people.”
Well it also de-humanizes, dishonors, and categorically expedites death en masse.
In the front we are given the image of a single drone, hovering over, with a person back a continent away playing w a joystick.
In reality the person isn’t even needed.
In reality the drones can be issued constraints and act on their own - given kill authority.
In reality we dishonor our Forefathers by trivializing murder down to how it’s handled when a strike kills a wedding - or kills a US Citizen without Trial etc.
No.
I am disgusted this is done in our name.
It’s our faces people see when they think of this shit.
That’s why he laughed while he cknducted these with Brennan.
In 20 years we have seen COUNTLESS PRINCIPLES thrown out. The sheer magnitude of that is absolutely worth fighting against. Anyone that can’t grasp that has had their mind, heart, and soul ripped away from them without them realizing it.
Are you against manned air forces too then? It's literally the same justification used for everything "why risk our own troops"
Not at all.
A guy in a plane dropping a bomb is risking life. A stooge in a trailer in Arizona controlling a Reaper in Pakistan - not so much.
People act differently when present to danger. Million other things come into play. My point namely is that once we separate the individual that can kill from any danger in doing so - there is no way off that slippery slope. It will just continue until the person is removed altogether and we just have killy parts. The dream of the death machine.
Probably why Call of Duty is so damn popular, raise a generation used to using that joy stick and just translate that mindset into being sat in front of a "real" joy stick with real consequences. And no, I'm not one of those get-rid-of-video-games people. I'm a mom with 3 boys who all played that shit growing up but none have murderous tendencies as young men.
Precisely it. Reagan actually talked about “lay off your kids for video games. It’s going to be important for warfare.” Or something like that.
I played flight sims as a kid. Bout all I could get into. Was super fun.
This. I should have read this before making my comment above.
That’s def one aspect. I think the crazy part is learning to thrive in linear environments. Kinda get people used to actually moving about in “virtual space” and make it all “just a game” so you can switch that out to real life without them even knowing ( at some point ).
I’ve probably just read Enders Game too many times.
