The stock market, itself isnβt bad. Itβs the derivatives and speculation used to manipulate value thatβs the problem.
I own low xx shares in Gamestop, even though I had nothing to do with its founding, nor have I ever worked there. Why am I a part-owner in a company I have nothing to do with? It makes no sense.
It makes complete sense.
Itβs the short selling and other financial instruments used to steal value thatβs the problem.
When you buy shares, youβre giving money to a company under the assumption they can do something with it. As the company grows, that value grows. So you sell your share for profit.
