It assumes Jack Dorsey got secret funding to launch and keep twitter running. If you have any basic knowledge of start ups you'll know exactly where that funding comes from.
These start ups don't just have magical funds out of nowhere, you can track them all and see exactly where they came from.
Twitter started back in 2004 before social media existed, and it was a huge novelty where tons of people saw dollar signs. So, a bunch of rich dipshits dumped money hand over fist into the company hoping that it would become hugely popular and they could run ads on it and everyone would get rich.
Since 2004 you can look down a LONG list of dipshits who have dumped money into twitter, in fact there's been 4.4 BILLION dollars invested into the company since it launched and they have made almost nothing in profits because they always wanted to focus on growth over profitability.
It's gotten to the point now that users will revolt if they see ads. Unlike Youtube which integrated ads very early on and trained their users. YouTube only cost 11.5 Million to build, but was bought early on by Google for 1.6 Billion. They invested heavily in the ad structure and in 2021 made 28 BILLION in ad revenue.
It doesn't take the CIA to build a social media platform, just a bunch of greedy fucks. In Twitter's case, they're also morons because they ignored ad revenue for too long and now they don't know how to monetize without fucking up the platform.
I guarantee if Elon bought Twitter, which the only reason he has interest is because he knows Tesla isn't posed to compete with the Big Three going 100% electric in the next few years and he needs a new monetization platform, but if he just integrate ads and declare himself the winner, then watch the user base split over to Instagram and LinkedIN.
This article is absolutely ignorant.

Fair points. Not qualified to weigh in on specifics, and we'll see if more comes out... But fair points.
