That's basically what I've come across when seeing people break down popular content creators. Once you notice it you'll never unnoticed it tho lol. Mark Rober was the guy I saw the analysis of iirc. From thumbnail to pace it's all calculated.
And the algorithms work on time of the video length too depending on content. I personally enjoy deep analysis videos of a subject to around 20 minutes. If it’s daily topics, I’d prefer 10 minutes (since I watch multiple personalities talk about the same thing daily).
Mark dice nails it with 10 minute clips with facts and some comedy. He is part of my routine.
Camtasia software by Techsmith is pretty good and they have a lot of videos showing how to use it. They have another product called Snagit which does screen captures and lets you edit them. They sell a bundle of both products. (I am not affiliated with Techsmith.)
I use Camtasia to edit a video, Snagit to make an intro/outro still image for the video, or screen cap a PPT slide to add as a still image to the video. Snagit can also be used to create gifs which could also be added to the video.
Another pede here recently offered video editing as his side gig. u/gamepwn
My best suggestion is similar to writing a paper.
Small intro, 3-5 paragraphs, or segments in this case with transitions and an exit strategy.
Create a formula and adhere to it. Viewers like consistency and familiarity. Keep with the formula and viewers will come back.
Once you’ve found your formula and do it a few times, your speed in editing will pick up. You’ll surprise yourself.

What software do you use to do your editing?
You could outsource editing.
Or you could take a more "Cody's Lab" approach to editing; i.e. very minimal, if it all. If the content is good, no one will care much about editing.
You could always do livestreams or just the "talk direct to the camera with no cuts" approach, no editing needed. Depends on your type of content.
Mostly sermons and automotive repair. Editing is a must for me
If you have someone that can switch for you, these are amazing and come with really good software - but this is for live production: https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/atem
Otherwise, learn how to edit. No way around that.
Most I've seen that need it done regularly hireit out. Lots of young kids willing to do it remotely.
