People make mistakes. Prison can be a place for them to contemplate their choices while protecting the public. But we owe it to ourselves and each other to allow people an opportunity to try to live a more cooperative life with others in society. Prison sentences should be reasonable. Second chances should be granted to nearly everyone.
However, repeat offenders should get harsher sentences.
Triple repeat offenders should get harsher sentences still.
I don’t know why we would give a violent, convicted felon a fourth chance at redemption.
The problem is that for every person who becomes a productive non-violent rehab. you have a bunch of new victims from the many people you gave chances to who failed to rehab...
While that is true, we also convict innocent people by accident or malice. We need to design a court / legal / penal system that is fair toward the innocent, not vindictive toward the guilty.
If a mugger gets out after a year and commits more violent crime, sign them up for five years. If they get out and commit more crime, sign them up for ten years. Once they get out of their 20s, most males calm down. If not, put them away for life.
Prison is not serving the purpose it was intended. Its another corrupted part of the establishment. A lot more people would become reformed if the prisons were ran with that intention.
There are also many many people in prison for false claims. They should be free.
There is a long way to go cleaning things up before anyone could ever say just kill them all. Not giving people the oportunity to repent and turn to God is a very evil thing to do.
Drug addicts are contagious…. They spread their addiction around like a virus. They should be quarantined from society to stop the spread of their deadly disease.
Rehabilitation worked better when inmates were put to work.
They were given skills that could keep them on the right path.
Then something something "basic human rights" activists made that change and now rehabilitation has definitely dropped.
And yes, if you are proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that you committed a violent crime, you should be permanently removed from society one way or another.
However, false convictions must be paid in return though.
It's never good when someone suffers life in prison only to be exonerated post-mortem with new evidence like the advent of DNA.
The prisonn system is a fucking joke. It's 2 guys crammed into a sardine can. No rehabilitation happens....nothing fucking happens. Except you make new connects. This system is designed to be a revolving door system. Because they are basically slaves. The inmates are basically a paycheck for the warden from the State, or private parties/lobbyists. This system is a fucking joke, and is designed as such to keep us further separated. Thats the mother fuckin truth...with some stank on it
Lobotomies work and are cheaper. Especially the hollow-point kind. :) :) Or any of you remember the movie Ice Pirates, and what they did to the criminals hahaha?!
I personally know 2 felons who are living productive lives, so rehabilitation is possible. The system needs to be reformed

Agree, so long as abortion is considered a violent crime (for both the abortionist and the harlot).
