I saw it last night. Absolutely the best film released this year so far, politics-free, technically marvelous in every capacity, and follows the most basic and traditional archetypes with interesting and understandable characters who you go along with.
If one traces his lineage to the British Isles, then you can bet there is some Viking blood in his veins. I'm Welsh and Scots-Irish, so I probably have some Viking forebear somewhere in the murky distant past.
You've got the blood of King David in you, you should be proud of that brother.
Welsh and Scots are a very proud people with an amazing history. The Ulster Scots people are the only ones that can claim to be undefeated.
The ones that went to America were the ones that gave most to its freedom, faith and governance.
We Are The People! No Surrender!
The Welsh and Scots and a few Irish settled in the South, where I was born and bred. The North was settled largely by English (esp. Puritans), German-Swede-Norwegians, and a few more Irish. Thus the two very different cultures... rigid morals, rules, and work ethic of the North; relaxed Laissez-faire Libertarian approach in the South.
I once read a paper (lost in the mists of time now) that stated the Civil War between North and South was really just a continuation of ancient wars that occurred over the centuries back in Europe, but mostly in the British Isles, between Britons and the wild tribes of Scotland, Wales, and Ireland.
"Northman is a based [agreeable] movie...."
I'm not sure the author of that even knows what "based" means.

Did I see Björk in that clip?
Oh God, « Selmasongs », a.k.a. « Dancer in the Dark OST » is one of my top 10 records. I believe I will give it a listen later, whilst sipping something nice in front of a nice fire. Thanks for the tip!🙏🏻
Edit: Thanks my God. « In the musicals » is the most virtuoso versatile song I was ever blessed to hear!🤗
I wonder how many Africans were living in Northern Scandinavia 1300 years ago?
