ICYMI - Electric cars setting themselves on fire in a row:

I am an engineer with knowledge of the national grid. Trust me I know what I am talking about. The grid is not capable of a large increase in load. And generation is not just poof and its there. There needs to be an energy source to run the generators.
No its kept stable for the most part but throw 10% of the vehicles on the road on the grid and you will have rolling blackouts.
My prediction is hydrogen powered cars. Jesus the hippies and their BS electric cars. Do you know the environmental damage needed to make one battery? Well do you? God help you if you park that bomb inside in your garage and the battery airbag gets a leak. (actually the push to electric is so that noone will own a car....use public transit you mouth breather - WEF)
Mmmhmm. The price goes up. People get upset. More power capacity is added and the grid is improved.
I don't know why you think that of the sudden, the market will not deliver the supply to meet the demand, even though they always have.
What is the number of people injured by gasoline in a garage igniting?
What is the dollar amount of property damage caused by gasoline being ignited?
Arguing with me will change nothing. The market will decide and it will dump the internal combustion engine.
ok you are an idiot arguing with an electrical engineer that works on transmission. You know more then me, ok then.
Ah, the ad hominem attack. Not used very often among frens that probably agree on almost everything important.
Look I stated the fact that the electric grid in the USA is simply not able to carry the power that would be required to power a fraction of the vehicles replaced by electric vehicles. Upgrading would require trillions of dollars and a complete teardown and replacement from your home, the local dist, tx lines, power hubs etc. And they there is simple not enough generation available so many new power plants, you need to power them somehow by the way.
Then there is the environmental damage to mine the minerals for the batteries.
The guy just kept saying that it will happen. What will happen if gas and other fuels were to disappear tomorrow, the grid would collapse and you better have shoes and some food.
The guy knows more than me and you appear to be a smart guy like him also, did you vote for biden?
