There most certainly can be platonic opposite sex genuine friendships without an interest in sex or adultery. In fact, it's healthy for each person in the marriage to have other friends, other connections, and it would be a controlling and weird relationship if they could never socialize or have actual friends with the opposite sex. Or they're just perverts with sex on their mind constantly, with no capability of seeing the opposite sex as anything but a sex object rather than a whole person who you can just be friends with.
I think people have good intentions, but do not always realize how easy it is to fall into sin. Of course there are "platonic" friendships, but usually one of the persons has feelings for the others that remain unspoken. I'm not overthinking this, just working from observation. Men are attracted to women, and women are attracted to men. If nothing happens, it's usually because one of them doesn't feel "that way."
I dunno what to tell you. I just don't see every woman in my life as a potential sex partner/object, and instead value their friendship. I can tell you just as much observation that platonic friends with no intention to seek out a relationship and no attraction happen constantly. It's just a matter of not viewing all women as potential mates "if things would just go right."
