(1)The United States Marshals Service is authorized to—
(A)provide for the personal protection of Federal jurists, court officers, witnesses, and other threatened persons in the interests of justice where criminal intimidation impedes on the functioning of the judicial process or any other official proceeding;
(B)investigate such fugitive matters, both within and outside the United States, as directed by the Attorney General;
(C)issue administrative subpoenas in accordance with section 3486 of title 18, solely for the purpose of investigating unregistered sex offenders (as defined in such section 3486); and
(D)assist State, local, and other Federal law enforcement agencies, upon the request of such an agency, in locating and recovering missing children.
The Supreme Court Police ensure the integrity of the Constitutional Mission of the Supreme Court of the United States by protecting the Supreme Court, the Justices, employees, guests, and visitors. Their range of services includes;
Protection of the Supreme Court Building and grounds, and persons and property therein;
Maintain suitable order and decorum within the Supreme Court Building and grounds, to include policing demonstrations and large-scale events;
Provide Courtroom security;
Prepare numerous reports to include incident, found property, accident, and arrest reports, as well as testify in court.
Basically the Supreme Court Police have limited jurisdiction and scope.
The U.S. Marshals have UNLIMITED jurisdiction within the U.S., and their scope includes 'kicking ass and taking names' in whatever capacity is necessary.
I know for a fact that the USMS does and has done personal security for justices of the US Supreme Court. At this point you will have to take my word for it.
Not sure if this is just another (coincidence), but the movie U.S. Marshall’s has been number one on Netflix for the past couple of days. Was curious why such an old movie was at the top. Could not mean anything at all but it’s just weird to me now after seeing this.
Dont sleep on this comment folks.
Came here to say this! ☝🏻
Marshalls marshall or escort people from point a to point b. They do not arrest.

That's pretty much what I said. They dont make arrests and they protect people but especially when they are moving.

I wish my job description included kicking ass.
Make it so.
