Oregon and a number of other states (most, perhaps) no longer have "a Republican form of government", meaning they are not ruled by representatives who were honestly elected. The federal government is charged with making sure each state IS ruled by honestly elected representatives. Once the communists are out of the White House, we'd better see some action on this or we'll never be right as a nation. Oh, and don't forget the second obligation in Section 4 (invasion), which unlike the domestic Violence obligation does not require an Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive.
Article IV, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution:
republic | rษหpษblik | noun a state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives, and which has an elected or nominated president rather than a monarch. โข archaic a group with a certain equality between its members. ORIGIN late 16th century: from French rรฉpublique, from Latin respublica, from res โentity, concernโ + publicus โof the people, publicโ.

I love references to our Constitution and links to constitutional details. One of the silver linings in the current state of affairs is our citizenry is actually pursuing knowledge and understanding of our founding documents and the reasoning our Founding Fathers instilled in them.
Thank you for this addition.
Most appreciated.
