But that goes for literally any info source. Thus the source isn't the issue but individual discernment.
We still post news articles despite questionable veracity, so I think I'll keep trying to improve my discernment but also keep reading whatever I want to read.
Nothing is more questionable than someone telling you not to read something.
Unfortunately what Quixotic is explaining is a legitimate concern. The quality of sourcing in this subculture has dramatically declined as the platforms have been systematically targeted.
It used to be the responsibility of the OP to do their own research, or at least link to a source that "baked the bread".
Now the movement is fragmented, making it easier to spread disinformation where people readily spread it due to confirmation bias. Someone probably read that headline and is now telling their friends as if it's fact. That's the state of the movement. We need higher standards.
Yes, go for entrainment if you must. If you find something dig until you know it’s valid, then post. But, know this, we all learned this, so if you are new here just know you are in the best place and and anyone saying this is doing it so you have all your ducks in a row when you go out and fight with your information. We are a team and we are here to help each other.
