I have tried to sign up for an account using my old twitter tag (sadly/not sadly banned.) When I got to the 'verify account' stage, it gave me an error saying my username was already taken, which is really unique to me, so I don't see it as being a common username that would be already taken by anyone else but me.

I tried to request a 'password' reset, entered in my email,.. and not have not yet received the email to do so. (It's been over 5 hours.)

Has anyone else had similar issues with signing up?

It was smooth sailing for me, fren, but I imagine now that word has gotten out that they are now accepting new accounts, the servers are stressed.

I don't think they have a basic problem with their software, it is just a matter of overload. That's my guess.

I have been waiting for 6+ hours for the email to verify my account. In my opinion they are swamped. Some requests may get lost depending on buffer sizes.... Not unusual if thousands upon thousands are trying to get on. If I don't get my email to verify I will try again in a week or so. Meanwhile I will depend on all my brothers and sisters here to keep me in the loop;) Thanks! WWG1WGA!

We're finally on fiber here in east Tennessee, so the type of network may have something to do with it. I got on in a minute, but I have heard others experiencing problems - it may have to do with DSL or some other format that may be causing problems.

Not less than 10 minutes ago opened an account using my laptop. Very easy. Verifying with email and SMS almost instantaneous. Absolutely no issue.

But that's just it, I never got the email to reset the password, even with checking the spam folder.

I had trouble when it came to registering my @ handle. Kept saying already in use no matter what I typed in. Gave up and then I got an email 15 minutes later saying welcome to truth social @whsky !! So probably a surge of new registrations. cheers

The exact same thing happened to me. No matter what I put, I got the same message. I even put gobbledegook and same message. Now I don't know where I am in the process. Bummer!

If you didn't get the verification email, check your junk file. That's where mine went.

I was invited to try desktop. They sent me link for desktop with my preferred handle but no password. Link error 404 followed by a page to download the app. Useless and can't do anything.

Android here, tried signing up for beta a few days ago, got a 'we'll be in touch with you shortly' Nothing. Saw the desktop version today, tried signing up hours ago. Still no verification email.
