So the flood and Noah's ark. That was definitely a mass extinction event, right?

I like to think of God as nicer than the Bible often portrays Him.
Is there not a difference between the good vanquishing the evil and the evil trying to vanquish the good?
I think the story of the great flood is really natural climate change and rising oceans that covered lots of settled lands.
It was likely the Younger Dryas extinction event around 9500 BC when a solar flare or a meteorite hit the ice caps and caused sea level to rise by 400 m over a short period of time, destroying much of human civilization. Many ancient cultures have a flood myth and there are ruins in coastal waters all over the world.
That’s what I’m talking about. Wiped out Laurentia. Beringia. Coastal Antarctic settlement. Created wider deeper gap between the Americas and Europe.
