Barnes makes some points that need to be considered. He knows that swamp well. He has been right on the money wth all of this so far. I agree with him in that the only way this is going to work is if cases are able to be moved out of DC - which may be difficult because many of the crimes took place in DC. It is impossible to to bring any of these bastards to justice as long as they are under DC jurisdiction. All of the the DC judges and the jury pool are corrupt or tainted - not to mention the DoJ. So, unless there is a way to bring jurisdiction to other Federal courts, I do not see anyone beyond mid level players prosecuted on anything more serious than process crimes - as in the Sussman case. The only reason this case went to trial is because Sussman wouldn't take a deal like Clinesmith. And Durham's history is not reassuring. He always protected the big fish within the government and buried the evidence.
I like the optimism of Nunes and Patel, but the reality of how the DC Federal Courts actually operate is another story. One only need look to the Flynn shit show to understand how it really works and for who.
Robert Barnes was a little more sceptical about Durham and whether there will be any high profile prosecutions.
I hope he's wrong and they all go to Gitmo.
