Electric cars have been around a long time. It will be popular for those that are traveling short distances but never long distances.
The lack of repair parts for electric cars makes it impractical for the everyday person to own an electric car.
An electric car enthusiast is like a linux user. You have to be really dedicated and well informed of the pros and cons.
Linux runs the vast majority of servers and is the core technology behind Android that runs a lot of smart phones and is arguably the core technology behind Apple's MacOS. No one who has deployed any sort of scientific computing or number crunching uses freaking microsoft products. They are a joke.
I run linux and constantly run simulations on my workstation. I haven't launched windows in quite some time, even for games. To be honest it is MS windows that is the odd man out.
Linux can run some games better than Windows 10(and 11) so at least there's that, I guess.
The customizability and lack of incredibly invasive Microsoft operating system is also a major gain.
If I were literally just using a PC to browse, I would definitely run Linux.
I run Linux and I run an online business, printer, scanner, digital photos, web browsing, accounting etc....
Amazon is switching to the Linux KVM hypervisor.

Or just buy a tesla and use the charging network for long distance. Super easy.
