Occultism is blood ritual magick. If it is merely unknown to science, it us not occultism. Your position denies the possibility of another realm outside of that which can be known be science, which is necessarily not occultic in nature.
Opening your mind is not the same as accepting anything as truth. It just means accepting information from different sources, holding it in your mind and making judgements based ont he sum total of your own experiences, instinct, logic, and critical thinking.
On the other hand once you close your mind, you have no chance of growing.
What I know, I know, and if I adopted your ignorance on your say so, it would not be opening anything.
